JERUSALEM (AFP) – Two rockets fired by Gaza militants slammed into southern Israel on Wednesday but did not cause any casualties or damages, a military spokesman said.

One of the short-range rockets exploded in an empty field and another by a road near Sderot, a southern Israeli city often targeted by rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.

Rocket attacks have continued despite ceasefires declared on January 18 in the wake of a three-week Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip that killed 1,330 Palestinians and left 13 Israelis dead.
